I am delighted to announce that Hungry City is now available in French. Entitled Ville Affamée, it is published by Rue de l’echiquier (there is an acute accent on the first ‘e’, but I don’t know how to type that here) in a handsome series that includes key titles in the world of sustainability, including Dennis and Donella Meadows’ Limits to Growth and David Holmgren’s Permaculture. I am proud and delighted to be part of such a distinguished series. You can read more about it here:
Ville Affamée has already received an excellent review from Le Monde journalist Anne-Sophie Novel, which you can read here:
The launch was held at the Paris Hotel de Ville at the kind invitation of Antoinette Guhl, Head of Sustainable Development at the Mairie de Paris. There was a large audience and we had a most interesting debate. I am thrilled to be published in French, and would like to thank my publishers, Thomas Bout and Bruno Lhoste, and my wonderful translators Marianne Bouvier and Emmanuelle Boudy. I look forward to many conversations across the Channel about the fascinating contrasts between our respective food cultures!
